According to the first historical records at the beginning of the 17th century, the Liwa Desert was populated by Bani - Yas Bedouins, from which the ruling families of Abu Dhabi and Dubai emerged.
This is where our Liwa desert safari takes you. Admirable is the beautiful vegetation of the oases amid breathtaking, up to 120 meter high dune formations. In a green oasis, we sit down for a lunch and a short break.
The other name of the Liwa desert is "Rub al Khali", the "Empty Quater" and here an episode of Star Wars was shot.
If they are open on the day of your visit (they are not available every day), we will also visit the fortresses, castles or the "Biggest Garage in the World", the Emirates National Auto Museum in the middle of the desert right on the highway. It is the big private car collection of Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. Even if you are not a great car expert, you will see after a minute that the Sheik is a very enthusiastic fan of cars and you will also be very much impressed.
